𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝘂𝗸𝗲 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗺 𝗗𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀.

For nearly 100 years the Kane family has farmed this Tapanui property, with Luke and Nicole building a diversified dairy, beef and Angus breeding business focused on long-term sustainability.

Judges were impressed by their strong focus on fundamentals, from detailed analysis and smart herd technology through to careful winter grazing management and soil protection.

Strong community connections and a commitment to supporting future generations is central to their approach.

They now go on to represent Otago at our National Sustainability Showcase on July 2, vying for the prestigious Gordon Stephenson Trophy and the title of National Ambassador for Sustainable Farming and Growing.
