Boma Agri-Summit 2023

OCC and Otago Catchment Groups attend

June 2023

The Boma Agri Summit 2023 was held in Christchurch mid June.

A feast for the senses is an understatement. With speakers from around the world standing alongside numerous speakers from NZ Aotearoa, attendees were provided with an outstanding line up of thinkers, operators and activators who were challenging the norms of primary production. We even had a couple of Otago speakers in the mix! Awesome work Becks Smith and Mike Casey :)

From food production, fibre useage and new opportunities in the agri-tech world, there were repeated sentiments offered to the over 600 attendees to look up, look ahead and prepare for change. This summit showcased what is coming at us, innovation and technology supporting production, efficiencies in the sector and diversification in how producers operate and look to feeding the over 8 billion mouths in the world. NZ’s position as a nation producing high quality foods and fibre, utilising appropriate technologies and innovative thinking to continually improve and diversify was evident.

Check out a couple of the speakers here:

Ben Scales - KiwiFibre

Maury Leyland Penno - Leaft Foods

A snapshot of the amazing food served up!

For anyone keen to be immersed in a space where insights into agri-business, agri-technology food and fibre production are brought to the fore, this is the place for you! Prepare to be challenged, inspired and connected to a confident, front facing sector, looking to the future with excitement and positivity.
